Abstract
With the rapid expansion of emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI), transforming teaching-learning methods and educational management systems has become increasingly essential. This study aimed to identify and explain the factors influencing AI innovation adoption in education-oriented organizations, with a focus on higher education. The research was conducted using a qualitative meta-synthesis method based on Sandelowski and Barroso’s seven-step model. Initially, through a systematic search in reputable national and international scientific databases in both Persian and English, 1,279 articles published between 2015 and 2025 were reviewed. Ultimately, 61 articles were selected for final analysis using the CASP appraisal tool. Data were extracted and categorized using a construct-variable approach grounded in multiple theoretical frameworks derived from the selected articles, such as TAM, UTAUT, TOE, TRI, and others. To validate the findings, the fuzzy Delphi technique was employed. The results revealed six main constructs as influential factors: digital motivational engines (individual domain), technology interaction protocols (technological domain), organizational synchronization engines (organizational domain), environmental adaptation networks (environmental domain), digital cognitive and emotional thresholds (cognitive-emotional domain), and smart adaptability factors (adaptive domain). The proposed conceptual model can assist educational policymakers, managers, and designers of smart learning environments in localizing and implementing effective strategies. Based on the findings, recommendations are presented to facilitate the adoption of AI innovations in higher education systems.
